Noah, and Other 7 Souls Busy Feeding Sheep

By Chris McCann

What was Noah doing on the 17th day of the 2nd month? And the 18th, 19, 20th, and every day thereafter while going through the prolonged judgment of God as the flood waters destroyed the earth?

He was feeding sheep. And donkeys. And tigers and bears. And every other kind of animal. And all of the animals (the remnant of animals delivered from death) typified God's elect.

Genesis 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

Throughout the prolonged judgment of the flood---Noah was not bringing animals (or people) into the ark (and the ark typified Christ and salvation); but instead he was feeding animals (sheep) day in and day out. Every day. Probably more than once a day.

Noah and his family were occupied with one primary task---feeding sheep. This agrees with the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ given in John 21, after the great catch of fish (picturing the great multitude saved out of Great Tribulation)---Christ speaks with Peter:

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

The command for our day and time (the time after the tribulation) is not 'go find My sheep'. No, that's already been accomplished. All the elect to be saved have already been found. Already been safely brought aboard the ark (Christ).

The command now---and it is a command from God---is to FEED MY SHEEP.

After telling Noah to bring the animals in the ark, and to take food for them---God then said this:

Genesis 6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Since Noah and the other 7 were constantly involved in 'feeding' the animals throughout the one year period of the flood, God once again is emphasizing to those elect, which are alive and living on the earth today, going through the wrath of God, what our task is to be for this entire period of a prolonged judgment upon the earth.
