Amazing situation

Chris McCann

Something happened to me today I thought was amazing. So I have to comment on this. I also want to explain a little bit about the situation so hopefully you can understand and see like I do that basically circumstances forced me to go to see a Dr. today.

I go to a VA hospital in Philadelphia not too far from where I live.

I go there fairly often to see specialists in 3 different fields. I haven't had a general practioner for about 8 years now because the one I had left and since I'm often at the hospital I didn't want to add another visit just to see a MD. One of my specialist Dr.'s has been handling pretty much all things that a general practioner would handle.

However, recently I ran out of a medication and had to go in person to the pharmacy for a refill. The pharmacist noticed I didn't have a MD and so he put a notice into the system that I needed one. They gave me that refill but stopped future refills.

I ran out of medicine again and reluctantly had to make an appt. to see a general practioner. I went to see the Dr. today.

I figured if the system is going to force me to see this Dr. then this Dr. (and nurse taking vitals) were going to get tracts.

But I forgot to bring English tracts. I only had Spanish tracts in my car. I did have a couple of EBF invitation cards in English. So I took those.

The nurse was really nice and we had a good conversation (she agreed with me that the pharmacist shouldn't have cut off my pill supply). And we were talking about the condition of the world, etc. to the point it seemed like the most natural thing for me to offer her the card. After taking it she said thank you. She's been going through some things lately. And I told her well, you know I basically was forced to come here today. And maybe giving you this card was the reason why. Because I believe that God controls all things. So even though it was the pharmacist it really was God controlling it.

I went back to the waiting room and had a seat. In a little while my new general practioner Dr. called for me to come in.

He was very thorough. Knew my whole history even though it was the first time we were meeting. He asked me what I do? And so I had a chance to tell him about E Bible Fellowship. And then I pulled out the other listener card and said, since you asked here's a card that tells you a little bit out the ministry.

We also were getting along very well. I noticed that the Dr. appeared to be Indian. I just had a feeling about that, so I asked him if he was from India? He said he was. And I told him that EBF is planning on going on a tract trip to India this April. And we discussed the situation in India right now. I asked if there was division there? And he said there was. I said like all over the world. And he agreed. I told him the reason behind the division was the fall of Satan's kingdom-or the nations of the world. And that division was evident in so many nations because the world has fallen. God has brought the world into judgment.

I could tell he wanted to get back to business. But I still had a feeling. I was thinking to myself, maybe this man speaks or understands Gujarati. I had just posted a note Jan. 5th asking if anyone out there spoke that language. This is the note I posted two days ago:

"Are there any Gujarati language speakers out there?

If so, do you know which Bible version FR used to use in that language? EBF is looking to translate our tract in the Gujarati language and we want to be sure that we're using the best possible Bible version for the quotations.

Thank you.

May the Lord's perfect will be done."

So I asked him if he was from Mumbai? He said no, he wasn't. He was from Gujarat. About 6 hrs. away from Mumbai (by train).

I heard "Gujarat" which sounded a lot like 'Gujarati" the language that I posted my note about. Wow. I couldn't believe that. India has about 22 official languages. The odds that my Dr., the Dr. I was basically forced to see-would be from India-are one thing, but the odds that the Dr. I had been forced to see was from India and also spoke the language we've been looking for someone to help us in-that really struck me. I couldn't help but see the hand of God.

Unfortunately, he himself was not a Christian and so did not know the faithful Bible version in the Gujarati language. He said his wife was a Christian but she was American. Earlier I had also told him about the end of the Church Age. He said his wife was in the church but hadn't gone for a long time in order to raise the children.

So it did not work out perfectly. He went on to give me some good information about the political/social climate in Mumbai and other parts of India right now-that was helpful. But was not able to specifically help with the Bible version.

May God's perfect will be done.
