From Oxford Mathematician John Lennox:

"Science of course, marvelous as it is, is limited. Even a Nobel prize winner by analyzing a cake cannot tell you why it was made. But aunt Matilda who made it can tell you. She can reveal it to you, but if she doesn't reveal it to you you'll never know."

Mr. Lennox makes a good point. Scientists can endlessly analyze the creation – but cannot tell the reasons and purposes for why it was made. Only the One (God) who made it can reveal that.
