Have Thou Authority Over Ten Cities

Genesis 2:1Revelation 21Luke 19:17Ephesians 3

What do you think God has been doing from all eternity past?

From the Bible we can know the following things:

1. God abhors idleness. A man that does not work is not to eat.

2. God is under His own law. Therefore, God Himself cannot be idle (without work).

3. One major work God performs is creation:

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

4. We know that God created (worked) this world at the beginning. And we know He has a plan to create a new earth (perform additional work of creation) after this world is destroyed.

5. God performs His work/s of creation with seemingly little effort.

6. God possesses the power and brilliant imagination to create multitudinous creatures without limitation.

7. Given that eternity future has no beginning point this provided God with unlimited opportunity to create various creations (worlds distinct and apart from this present world and universe).

8. God speaks of giving His elect cities to rule over.

9. Cities in the Bible can point to a complete creation (see Revelation 21 wherein the apostle John sees a new heaven and a new earth which is then described to be New Jerusalem coming down from heaven.

10. It is therefore likely that it is God's plan for His elect sons to be given rule over these various creations to reign over them in eternity future.

Luke 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

Putting all of this information together with what we read in Ephesians 3, our conclusion that there exists a vast number of other creations inhabited by countless other creatures (none like man though) for whom the Lord has put this world on display is altogether Biblical.
