The World's Final Judgment Has Certainly Come
"Shut-door theology was a belief held by the Millerite group from 1844 to approximately 1854, some of whom later formed into the Seventh-day Adventist Church."
EBF response:
What others did in the past is of no significance to God's elect today. I don't know what the Millerite's believed nor do I care. Some try to bring this type of "like doctrine" connection up in order to infer that the shut door cannot be correct because a false gospel previously taught it. Well, many false gospels teach one or two or more things that may be true doctrines. If someone in the past did teach such a thing – they were teaching a wrong doctrine because the time was not right. Unlike today, when the time of the world's final judgment has certainly come.
Regarding nothing new with teaching the door is shut, your attempt to mar the Bible's true teaching on God's action of shutting the door of heaven by linking it to some false prophecy in the past is old hat. I've heard this again and again Typically, it is stated by people who cannot refute the revelation of God's righteous judgment by the Scriptures, so they try to refute it using carnal methods like guilt by association. Where do you read in the Bible that we are to come to conclusions on right/wrong doctrine by reviewing what others have taught on the subject in the past? You do not read that anywhere. That's worldly reasoning. Not Biblical.
