I just realized that you were referring to this verse:

Genesis 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

The preposition lamed is attached to the word “seven” here. Literally it means "to seven" days. The number of days specified earlier in verse 4 was reached. God gives us the number of days as seven. Not eight. But seven. That's the number we work with as we seek to find out any deeper spiritual meaning. In this case 2 Peter 3:8's reference in the context of the flood to "one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." That's 7,000 years.

And either you are not aware or you have forgotten – but God confirmed this understanding of 7000 years for 7 days was accurate through the great tribulation's timeline of 23 full years and 8400 exact days. This timeline for the great tribulation was worked out well before the 7,000 year flood time path. And lo and behold, what did we find once we traveled 7,000 years from the flood in 4990 BC to the year 2011? We found that at the end of the 23 year great tribulation period-the tribulation which had begun on May 21, 1988 – and continued through May 21, 2011 – we found that on that concluding date of the tribulation (May 21, 2011) that it had as the underlying Hebrew calendar date the 17th day of the 2nd month. Which is stunning. Because that was the exact date the flood began. See:

Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Try calculating those odds. The chances for this being a coincidence must be astronomical. An entire time line for the great tribulation worked out in detail from its starting point of May 21, 1988 to what was the expected concluding day of May 21, 2011. Set that aside.

That whole scenario was arrived at independently from the 1 day as a 1000 years from the flood calculation. Based on the 23 years (8400) days conclusion we would expect Judgment Day to come on May 21, 2011.

And then we find that the timeline from the flood-if applied to that very day matches up perfectly with what happened historically. Once the seven day timeline God gave Noah was fulfilled then God shut the door of the ark and the flood waters began to come on the 17th day of the 2nd month of Noah. That's way beyond coincidence. That's the hand of God locking in a date to confirm Judgment Day for this world had begun.
