X Creating X is Nonsense
From Oxford Mathematician John Lennox:
"People are now so desperate to show that the universe created itself from nothing, which seems to me to be an immediate oxymoron. If I say X created Y I am assuming the existence of X to explain the existence of Y. If I say X created X, I am assuming the existence of X to explain the existence of X. Which simply shows that nonsense remains nonsense even if high powered scientists utter it."
My interpretation of what he is saying: If I say X (God) created Y (world/universe), I am assuming the existence of X (God) to explain the existence of Y (world/universe). If I say X (world/universe) created X (world/universe), I am assuming the existence of X (world/univ.) to explain the existence of X (world/univ.). Therefore, X creating X is nonsensical. The world/univ. (X) cannot come from itself.
