You Better Hope Jesus isn't Coming for You as a Thief
YouTube comment on EBF's short video discussing the 2,000th anniversary of 33 AD coming in a few years and the Biblical evidence for God to end the world and resurrect the body of Christ (the elect) as He resurrected Christ Himself in 33 AD:
"Save it, bro. Christ himself said no one will know the time day like a thief in the night idiot probably trying to hook some money out of some people."
EBF reply:
You've been taught that Christ comes like a thief and "no one" can know. But you've been taught incorrectly:
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 BUT YE, brethren, are NOT in darkness, that that day should overtake YOU AS A THIEF.
The Bible's actual teaching is that Christ comes as a thief in the night upon the UNSAVED people of the world. For the saved people, He does NOT come like a thief in the night. Which is a good thing for them because Jesus Himself said that a thief only comes to steal, destroy, and kill (all negative with no mention of blessings):
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
So anyone believing that Jesus is coming as a thief in the night for them – is believing that He is coming to kill and destroy them.
The second thing is that understanding Bible truth is not a matter of idiot vs. smart. It’s actually a matter of eyes open vs. eyes closed. Or ears open vs. ears shut.
Acts 7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord ...
If (only by God's grace) you take the fingers firmly stuck out of your ears and conduct yourself as a Berean to search the Scriptures to see if these things are so (Acts 17:11), then perhaps you'll be counted among the few whose eyes and ears the Lord has opened to the deep things of God:
Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
2nd EBF reply:
Oh, forgot to mention, I understand the “money hungry” reference. That's the pathetic condition of much of "Christendom" today.
But you really should check out things before venturing to speak. If you did check out the ministry of E Bible Fellowship, you would find that we broadcast our programming 24/7 and never ask listeners for money.
Also, we do "sell" books, shirts, hats, invitation cards, etc. but the price is 0.
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath NO MONEY; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk WITHOUT MONEY and WITHOUT PRICE.
Matthew 10:8 ... freely ye have received, FREELY GIVE.
