#1 There is nothing in the Bible that says a "tittle" is a vowel point.
The Greek word translated as tittle is Strong's no. 2762. It is the Greek word keraia. It is translated twice as tittle. The only clue we have to its meaning is the fact that it is the feminine of Strong's no. 2768. Which is the Greek word keras. You can see the first four letters are identical. The different ending can be accounted for by the fact its in the feminine.
Keras (#2768) is translated as "horn" or "horns" in the N.T.
Luke 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; God raised up "an horn (#2768) of salvation". Which of course points to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Additionally we find reference to the seven horns of the beast (a type of Satan) coming up out of the sea in Revelation 13:1.
These two references are helpful because we can find similar references in the O.T. And that allows us to consider the Hebrew word for "horn" (#7161/#7162) as we try to define this word-and by extension help us define what a tittle is. And again, this is the only way of defining a tittle since God has not specifically done so.
Next time we'll look at the Hebrew words translated as horn/horns.
