When Will We Receive an Hundredfold?

Matthew 19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Oh, someone might say. That's easy. We'll receive an hundredfold in heaven.

Ah, that's not what the Bible says:

Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Notice, He shall receive an hundredfold NOW IN THIS TIME, ...

Also, let's read:

Luke 18:28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

Again, emphasis is placed on this present time, and "in the world to come life everlasting".

Q. What exactly does it mean to receive an hundredfold of brethren, sisters, mothers, and children?

A. The hundredfold points to the fruit that comes forth by the sowing of the seed (Word of God) and watering by the latter rain.

Luke 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Explanation of this verse in the parable is given in:

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

The fruit is brought forth with "patience". Tribulation worketh patience. Here is the faith and patience of the saints (Revelation 13:10 and Revelation 14:12).

A hundredfold IN THIS PRESENT TIME ties in with the drawing of the great multitude to Christ. The great multitude are our brethren, our sisters, etc.
