A.W. Pink Taught that God so Loved the World of God's Elect

John 3:16

I wasn't aware of this but a friend recently sent me an excerpt from A.W. Pink's book, "The Sovereignty of God" that presents the correct understanding of the word "world" in John 3:16 as the world of God's elect.

The same friend has told me that Duane Spencer also had this understanding.

I am thankful when I hear that men of the past had correct understandings in regards to teachings like this. I view it, since I was unaware of their positions, as independent confirmation that other saints have likewise found in the Scriptures.

A.W. Pink has long been one of my favorite Church Age theologians. I've mentioned him before as the man who did a Bible study in the book of Exodus and broke down the numbers found there and explained there spiritual meaning (he was off on some of the spiritual meaning but we can see that braking down numbers in the Bible looking for spiritual meaning did not originate with Mr. Camping). I think Pink died in the 1950's before FR and Mr. Camping got his start on the airwaves.

Below is A.W. Pink exegesis on the Greek word Kosmos which is translated as world. Unfortunately the text formatting did not transfer over well. Sorry to present it like this but I don't have the time now to go through and correct it.
