Abraham, the Number 4,200 and the End of the World

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

The genealogy in Matthew 1 starts with Abraham. Abraham was born in 2167 BC.

Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

We are told that there are 14 generations from Abraham to David.

And 14 generations from David until the carrying away into Babylon.

And 14 generations from carrying away into Babylon unto Christ.

Q. How many generations are there from Abraham to Christ?

A. 3 x 14 = 42

There are 42 generations from Abraham to Christ. That's what the Bible tells us.

Q. How many years are there from Abraham's birth in 2167 BC until the year 2033 AD?

A. There are 4200 years when those 2 dates are added together.

42 generations from Abraham until Christ.

4,200 years from Abraham until the finality of Christ's second coming.
