Churches Ignored God's Ensamples and Admonitions

Individuals (God's elect) found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Not corporate bodies such as national Israel of the Old Testament and the churches of the New Testament. Corporate bodies are obligated to be faithful – or to do the good work of obeying God's commandments. If they fail to do this then God will cut them off – as He has already done regarding both national Israel and the corporate church.

1 Corinthians 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

The above passage was a direct warning to the N.T. churches to look at Israel's history and take note that God will judge His own people if they be rebellious. The churches failed to hearken to God's admonition, and as a result, God has cut them off like a branch from the vine – the churches and congregations of the world have withered away and are only as fuel for the fire now.
