Drawing /Signification of Death

John 12:31John 21:18John 21

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, SIGNIFYING WHAT DEATH HE SHOULD DIE.

Compared to:

John 21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

19 This spake he, SIGNIFYING BY WHAT DEATH HE SHOULD glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

As Jesus spoke of drawing all men unto Himself we're told that He said this to signify the death He should die.

In a similar way the context of John 21 refers to the drawing of the great catch of fish. A little further along God describes Peter being carried where he would not desire to go. Then we're told that Jesus said this in order to signify what death he should die.

The Greek word translated as "signify" (#4591) is used 6 times in the New Testament. 3 times it is associated with death. Twice the death of Christ. And once regarding the death of Peter.

Death of Christ. Draw all men (elect) to Himself.

Death of Peter (typifying the elect/or the body of Christ). In context of drawing the great catch of fish (great multitude saved out of the Great Tribulation).

Both tied together by language "signifying what death he should die".
