FROM: SUNDAY’S OPEN Q & A

Great segment the other day about NOT getting caught up in the world’s affairs and becoming engrossed by them. God does say that we wrestle against principalities and things of the like. My question and comment is where do we draw the line in standing up for what is right and not becoming engrossed by the world? Thank you.

ANSWER

We pray for a good deal of wisdom. But some things are obvious. We do not get involved with the world's issues. We try to stay out of left/right arguments. Black/white/brown arguments. Liberal/conservative arguments. Forms of government arguments such as socialism/democracy. Various causes like abortion, gay rights, transgender, immigration, etc. etc., etc.

Where we draw the line and stand up for what is right is on the things the Bible says. Our main focus needs to be on the Scriptures and sharing its teachings.

For an example of what it means to separate from the world, take a lesson from the world itself. Do the people of the world concern themselves in matters of understanding right Biblical doctrine? For the most part no, they do not. In fact, they typically get far away from the Bible's spiritual things. This is what we are to do at this time when it comes to obeying God's command to come out of Babylon (the world):

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Along with:

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
