Matthew 24:36

Matthew 24:36Mark 13:32Matthew 24

Just noticed that the NIV and modern versions add “the Son” to Matthew 24:36.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36 NIV)

The King James Bible correctly reads this way:

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

In the KJV the Son is not mentioned. He is mentioned in the gospel of Mark:

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

The NIV also refers to the Son in Mark 13:32.

Word of caution for any using Bible Hub. I typed in Matthew 24:36 interlinear and Bible Hub came up. Bible Hub's text used an inferior Greek text that adds "the Son" to Matthew 24.
