Thirdly, you wrote:
"In addition, the broader context of Daniel 12 must be examined carefully to determine whether it truly supports those conclusions. It is absolutely clear that Daniel 12 is focused entirely on the time of the end—not on the period from AD 29 to AD 33."
Absolutely clear to who? That's what Mr. Camping himself thought for many years. He thought the 1,335 days must apply to the end given the chapter it was found in.
But he testified that truth did not begin to dawn UNTIL he started wondering could refer to Christ's first coming rather than His second.
Your statement that since the chapter has much to do with the end means every verse must be about the end – is not true in itself. There is no rule in the Bible that says God can only have in view one time period or one emphasis throughout a chapter. You don't read that anywhere in Scripture. That is an assumption you are making. Just like some people assume that the trumpets in Revelation or the book of Revelation must follow some kind of chronological order. No, it does not have to do that. And actually it does not do that.
Doctrine built on assumptions is on shaky ground. Especially a doctrine that seeks to usurp a solidly laid analysis as Mr. Camping has laid out often in his writings concerning the pinpoint accuracy of the 1,335 days being spiritually fulfilled from Sept. 25th, 29 AD to May 21, 33 AD.
