Public Prayer
Although public prayer can be abused (and has been abused) yet it’s clear from the Scriptures below that the Bible permits it:
Acts 1:24 And THEY PRAYED, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
Acts 4:31 And when THEY had PRAYED, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Acts 6:6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when THEY had PRAYED, they laid their hands on them.
Acts 8:14 Now when THE APOSTLES which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, PRAYED FOR THEM, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
Acts 12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where MANY gathered together PRAYING.
Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas PRAYED, and sang praises unto God: and the PRISONERS HEARD THEM.
Acts 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and PRAYED WITH THEM ALL.
