Seven Saints Pour Out the Seven Last Vials Full of the Wrath of God

Revelation 15:6Revelation 16Revelation 19:71 Corinthians 6:2

Revelation 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

And,

Revelation 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

Seven angels are commissioned by God to pour out the 7 last vials full of the wrath of God upon the earth. Who are these 7 angels?

First, the Greek word translated as "angel" can also properly be translated as "messenger". And most often “messenger” is a better translation than “angel.” The 7 angels here are actually 7 messengers. Second, the number 7 points to perfection and perfection is closely related to completion. Therefore, the 7 angels actually points to the perfection (completion) of God's messengers.

If the 7 angels are not really angels but messengers, then who are these messengers?

Third, the perfection (completion) of messengers are God's saints (the elect). We know these "7 angels" are the saints because of the description of their clothing:

Revelation 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

We are told they were clothed in "pure and white linen". This type of clothing is mentioned several chapters further on in the book of Revelation:

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The bride of the Lamb (Christ) is made up of all those who became saved. We see that the bride was arrayed in "fine linen, clean and white". And then the Lord tells us "for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints".

How were the 7 angels dressed? They were "clothed in pure and white linen" (Revelation 15:6). Exactly as the bride of Christ is clothed. And exactly in the attire that God says is the "righteousness of saints". Therefore, we may confidently draw the conclusion that the "7 angels" are God's elect – the saints.

Additionally, we find that the Lord's giving to them the 7 last vials full of the wrath of God and then sending them to pour out those vials in Revelation 16, is a commentary on 1 Corinthians 6:2's declaration that the saints will judge the world.
