The 11th Pound Explained

Luke 19:24Luke 19:18Daniel 12:4,9Romans 2:5

Luke 19:24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

One man has his only pound taken from him. And another man who had 10 is given an extra pound. And this is happening at the time of their Lord's RECKONING.

Interesting. What about the man with 5 pounds (Luke 19:18)? Why isn't he in view?

Here's why. The pounds represent truth of understanding of the Bible. The man with 5 pounds represents the elect of God who lived over the course of the Church Age. During that time, much truth was sealed up giving them no access to it. So the number of pounds they were entrusted with was less. And because the parable concerns the day of reckoning (time of world's final judgment), this man is not in view. The elect who lived during the Church Age are not on the earth to have their spiritual understanding increased.

The man with 1 pound is an unsaved individual (professed Christian or professed true believer) who lived at the time of the end. Since he was never saved, he has no true knowledge of the Bible. And once God springs the end time trap of a spiritual judgment, he quickly begins a backward journey away from the Biblical truths he had once learned. His pound is taken away from him leaving him with none or no right understanding of the Bible.

The man with 10 pounds represents God's elect living at the time of the end. It is at that time that the Lord opens the seals off the Bible and greatly increases the knowledge of His people (Daniel 12:4,9). And it is also in the time of the end that God brings forth the revelation of His righteous judgment program (Romans 2:5), thereby increasing further the understanding of His people in the actual Day of Judgment itself. So they receive an extra (11th) pound.
