The Truly Woke!
Ephesians 5:14
We hear an awful lot about being "woke" in our modern day. It is certainly one of the most commonly used words in many parts of the world.
And yet, a verse in the Bible written about 2,000 years ago defines for us what it means to be truly "woke":
Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Awake thou that sleepest – and arises from the dead! This is the command of Christ directed towards His elect people-dead in their souls. The command to arise from sleep/death is what occurred once God saved the sinner and gave new life to his soul.
All the rest of mankind remain asleep/dead in their souls.
Therefore, only the elect child of God qualifies as being truly woke.
