There are More Ways for a Woman to Give Answer (Defense) Than Just One

Chris McCann
Luke 21:2Luke 21:20,211 Peter 3:151 Timothy 2:12

A woman may fulfill her role as "prophet" in many ways.

She can prophesy to her children as she raised them. Or prophesy to other women and children through Bible study. Or prophesy to all people by handing out tracts.

A woman can also give answer to others concerning the hope that is within her by contributing her "two mites" (Luke 21:2) for the cause of the Gospel. As well as praying for God's blessing upon the Gospel.

Sometimes it seems, out of focus for what is perceived to be the greater thing (teaching men), these ways mentioned above for women to fulfill her role as a "prophet" are casually dismissed as though they were insignificant. They are not insignificant in the least. The Lord commends the woman who gave the two mites in a wonderful way. Who among us can properly weigh the tremendous spiritual value of godly women praying for their husbands, their children, and for the furtherance of the Gospel.

And when it comes to one of the most used and effective means of personally getting out the Gospel (prophesying) in our day, the Lord has greatly used women to go forth using their time and financial resources and strong effort to share God's word with millions through tract distribution. Often, women make up the bulk of the tract team. And often put the men to shame with their concentrated efforts and diligent tract work. Is this not a bold defense (answer) for the Gospel of the Bible?

A woman can also give answer/defense (when asked) for the hope within her by pointing others to the Bible. It’s that Holy Book that has blessed me, she joyfully tells both men and women alike. Through the living of her life (her conversation as the old English says) she is providing answer (defense) to both men and women for the reason of the hope that is within her.

Yes, a man asks her, but why don't you go to church?

She responds, it is because God has opened up my eyes to understand that we have come to the time of the end of the Church Age. I will testify to you that Luke 21:20,21 really opened my eyes to this truth. But this is a big subject. If you want to know more about it, I can direct you to a faithful website eBibleFellowship.org. Or an excellent book (Mr. Camping's "The End of the Church Age...")?

In the above example, answer has been given without exposition of Scripture. Her reference to Luke 21:20,21 was a personal testimony. But why shouldn't the woman expound upon the Word of God? Doesn't the Bible say in 1 Peter 3:15 that all God's people are to give answer if asked for the reason of the hope within them?

The answer one gives must also fit in with other Scriptural guidelines for us. And in the case of a woman, God says He suffers not a woman to teach nor usurp authority over the man. Therefore, the woman's response in the example above does indeed give answer while adhering to 1 Timothy 2:12's admonition.
