There is a Break Between the Two

Portion of a comment on a post dealing with vowel points:

"Many of the dear people who are continuing to follow the vowel point teaching are of the mindset that if you give it enough time, the teaching will sink in. This is nonsense. What's the foundation that they're leaning upon to prove that tittle is a vowel point. As far as I can see, there is none. If there is, then please show it by sticking to the Bible. Also, it ridiculous to think that some people are of the mindset that EBF is being mean to BMI and therefore we should not be supportive of EBF. This is not a good approach. It's called sulking. BTW, the objective is just to stick to the Bible, and be supportive of God's Word."

My response:

There's a lot of error out there. Too many false teachings to even count. And I don't normally spend time discussing them all that much except by making general statements of the church's apostasy or references to certain grievous and well known errors like tongues, and falling over backwards, etc.

So maybe that's why some may think I'm picking on those who teach vowel points. Or coming down too hard on it.

I think the reason I'm addressing this maybe more than I would other equally grievous errors is because I feel partly responsible. I know people trusted EBF and when we gave responsibility to a certain person to lead some of our tract trips and to teach in our programming and at our conferences for quite a while – some EBF listeners seeing this gravitated towards this person and his ministry. It is not an easy thing to break the connection in the minds of people between EBF and someone they often saw involved with EBF.

But there is a break between the two. One has added to the word of God. And I cannot express how serious a matter this is. Revelation 22:18 makes it clear that if any add to the word the plagues written therein will be added to him. There is absolutely no way that EBF who maintains that the words (formed in the Old Testament by letters which are all consonants) of the Bible only are inspired and come from God cannot join hands with any that say there is more than that. Thousands of words more as they believe each vowel point is a word.

And now we see the problems that accompany aligning ourselves with another ministry. Mr. Camping was very wise to make sure FR (in his days) stayed an independent ministry. EBF has now learned this bit of wisdom, we will not partner with anyone else or even given the appearance of partnering with anyone else again. Unfortunately, attaining wisdom sometimes comes hard through grievous situations.
