This is the Time Wherein Men Seek Death & Desire to Die Yet Death Flees from Them

This verse:

Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Is saying the same thing as these verses:

Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

In our time, right now, men are seeking death or to die – in Christ:

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Baptized by the Spirit (not water baptism) is what happened when God saved a sinner and washed away all of his sins.

Now (in our time) men seek this death and desire to die – again this means to seek identification with the death of Christ that accompanies salvation-but are unable to find it. Because, we're told, "death shall flee from them". That is, death in Christ (salvation) will flee from them. Which means they will not obtain it. Moreover, by telling us it flees from them God is letting it be known that Christ Himself (the One who died for the sins of His elect people) will make sure they do not find salvation in Him by running, as it were, in the opposite direction away from them.
