Time Should be No Longer /The Mystery – Should be Finished
Revelation 10:6 (there should be time no longer) seems to present us with a contradiction as the Bible indicates there is a period of time wherein mankind's judgment is worked out by God.
How do we solve this contradiction? How do we harmonize this statement with everything else in the Bible?
Well, maybe we haven't been thinking of it in the right way.
Maybe, we should consider that the "time" which should be no longer – is not telling us about general time on the earth. Nor is it telling us that there is no time allotted for Judgment Day. But it is telling us something else entirely.
What else is there?
Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die;
There was a time to be born. Yes we understand there is a physical aspect to this. But spiritually, the Bible also speaks of a time to be born again. It is called the Day of Salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).
There should be time no longer (Revelation 10:6). That is, no more time to be born. God's salvation program is complete. It is done. Time for being born again – is no longer.
Then, the next verse confirms this understanding:
Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished,
The mystery of God should be finished. As we discussed previously, the mystery of God here identifies with the mystery of both Jew and Gentile entering in (being born again) and thus all spiritually Israel being saved. Therefore, the mystery of God "should be finished" (notice the similarity of the language with "time should be no longer") is saying the same thing as "time" should be no longer.
