We Now Fully Understand What "The Mystery of God" Is
The Bible speaks of many mysteries. Mysteries are the hidden truths of Scripture. Jesus said to the disciples that "it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God".
Babylon is said to be mystery. The marriage relationship is a mystery (a parable illustrating the spiritual union between Christ and His bride – the elect). There are numerous mysteries.
Revelation 10 tells us of "the mystery" of God which is finished once the seventh trumpet is about to sound:
Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished…
This is one “mystery,” not many mysteries, as it is not plural. Which means it is speaking of one particular hidden truth. And as we analyze all Biblical information we realize that it must be speaking of the mystery of salvation – as the Lord describes the coming in of the Gentiles as a mystery in Romans chapter 11:
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved:
We know from the Bible that it was God's plan to first accomplish the salvation of His elect – and then bring judgment on the world.
The finished mystery Revelation 11 refers to occurs right before the sounding of the seventh (last) trumpet. Right before Judgment Day begins. Only the completion of God's salvation plan qualifies as the fulfilling (finishing) of that particular mystery.
Both Jew and Gentile, all spiritual Israel, enter into the kingdom of God via salvation and then the trumpet sounds because it is Judgment Day.
In other words, God had to save the last of the elect and finish that particular mystery before He could proclaim it was Judgment Day. So He saved the great multitude over the second part of the Great Tribulation, leading up to May 21, 2011, and then on that date the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets sounded simultaneously. They all sounded at once, giving a prolonged blast of the trumpet, a continuing sound that will continue to sound until the very last day of earth's existence.
We now correctly understand Revelation 10:7's reference to the mystery of God being finished. It fits in perfectly with the shutting of the door of heaven.
Also, the Scriptures that follow this verse (in Revelation 10) proceed to tell us about the need (“thou must”) of prophesying again to all the world. Proper understanding of what the "mystery" is – is great confirmation of the truths we have previously learned.
Revelation 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
The Bible is full of "mysteries" – plural.
The "mystery" of God in Revelation 10:7 is singular. It is one mystery that is finished. Not all mysteries.
I had been looking at the statement as sort of referring to all Scripture and all mysteries. But no, that was incorrect. It is simply one mystery that finished.
The word “mystery” is used 27 times in the New Testament. There was the mystery of the Gentiles being fellow heirs with the Jews. The mystery of the marriage relationship. The mystery of Babylon. The mystery of parables in general. And the mystery of all the Gentiles coming in-thereby all Israel would be saved (Rom. 11:25,26). This the great mystery concerning the completion of God's salvation program (and so all Israel would be saved).
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved:
