What is His Son's Name?

Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

God is the answer to the questions listed in this verse. He is the One who has ascended up into heaven, or descended (Ephesians 4:8-10). God is the One who has gathered the wind in His fists. God is the One who has bound the waters in a garment. God is also the One who has established all the ends of the earth. Can there be any other answer to these questions but the Almighty God?

What is His name? The Bible tells us that God has many names. Jehovah. Saviour. Messiah. Everlasting Father. Prince of Peace. Etc. Etc.

The last question of the verse is very revealing. What is His (God's) Son's name? If thou can tell?

The problem with many today is that they cannot tell. They do not know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Or, they do not know that the Son is Himself God in the flesh as the Bible flatly declares (1 Timothy 3:16).

God's elect people can tell. By God's grace we know His name. And we bow the knee to Him as we should – since He is Lord and God:

John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
