God is God! Not You!

A man commented: "Well if a reprobate mind means that I think slaughtering whole families, including the babies and sucklings, and enslaving young virgins is wrong, then a reprobate mind has a higher moral standard than your bible.

1 Samuel 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Numbers 31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

EBF response:

God gave life to whole families. God takes life from whole families. Aren't you aware that every human being dies. Man, woman, and child. And each and every time a human being dies, it is God taking their life.

But why must they die? The world never wants to ask that question. The answer is because of their sin.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;

And since all have sinned all are worthy of the just penalty (according to God's righteous law) of death.

Man's sin means that each and every sinner lives his life under a death penalty (the wrath of God abides upon him); and God may decide at any point to take their life in a multitude of ways. He may take their life through old age. Or take their life by disease. Or take their life through an accident of some type. Or take their life in warfare. Or take their life through man's inhumanity to his fellow man. Or, as is the case with the Biblical account, God decided to take the lives of the men, women, and children of Amalek through the sword of His people Israel.

God has also determined to take the lives of all men, women, and children of the world of Noah's day (except for Noah and his family). And God determined to take the lives of all men, women, and children in the city Sodom – except for Lot and some of his family.

God is God. Not you. You are a puny little fallen rebellious creature. God's judgments are always righteous. Your judgments as a puny little fallen rebellious creature are always unrighteous (Romans 3:10-12). You cast your words as though you are the High and Lofty One that inhabits eternity. As though you are the One sitting upon the circle of the earth. You shoot forth your vain words as though you are the one who gave life to all the people you supposedly weep for. Yet you never clothed them. You never fed them. You never gave them a beating heart. And you never gave them moments of joy and feelings of love nor emotions of all kind. You are not the one that formed them in the womb and watched over them by giving them sunshine and rainy seasons for crops so they could feed themselves and their families.

No. You were not even born then. Yet somehow the world managed to exist and yes generations of people lived and died without your presence or even the least thought of your existence.

It was God who fed, cared for, and gave those people every good thing they ever enjoyed. And all the while – those very same people denied Him as you do. Even spoke against Him as you do. Lived their lives contrary to His laws as you do. And lived every moment without thought of the One true God who had made them. Yet despite this constant rebelliousness towards Him – He gave them many earthly blessings. As He has to you as well.

Yet, as was the case with them, so will the case be with you: there comes a day when God's goodness to the rebel sinner gives way to His justice. And according to His law which they have transgressed, they must die. How they die is immaterial. For ultimately, in every way, it is God taking them in death as a result of their sin against Him. That's why men die. Death is not God's fault. Death is man's fault. A sad truth which your railings against God always conveniently forget and overlook.
