Judges 7:3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

Judges 7:6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

God whittled down the Israelite force from 32,000 to 10,000 to finally 300.

It can be shown that the battle between Gideon (type of Christ) and the 300 against the

Midianite host is a historical parable pointing to the battle of Judgment Day.

Which makes us wonder if there is any significance to the numbers of men who finally go with Gideon to the battle.

Here is one interesting observation: the 300 men chosen out of the 10,000 are 3% of the total number.

And at the time that Judgment Day came to this world (on May 21, 2011), there was about 7 billion people in the world. The Bible speaks of a great multitude being saved at the time of the great tribulation (Revelation 7:9,14). One number that is mentioned is the number of 200 million (Revelation 9:16).

200 million out of 7 billion = 2.857% rounded up to 3%.
