Mr. Camping on Vowel Points
Judges 16:4Jeremiah 2:21
It has been suggested that Mr. Camping never took a position regarding the vowel points in the Hebrew text. By position I mean, whether or not they were part of the inspired Word of God.
I don't know if he ever addressed vowel points in the Open Forum program. But I do know that he did speak about them in his Bible studies. In his Judges study on Samson and Delilah, he pointed out that the word "Sorek" (Strong's #7796) in Judges 16:4 is the same word as "noble vine" (#8321) in Jeremiah 2:21. That is, it is the same word once you take away the vowel points. Here is the quote from Mr. Camping:
"In the Hebrew language there are no vowels. You can pronounce it Sorek, or Sarak,...it is all the same word."
