Vowel Points are not Words – Strong's #8292 (#1 of 2)
Strong's #8292 is one of the two numbers Gunther gave when he said that vowel points were words. He gave #8292 as proof of that.
We will check out the this first Strong's number given (#8292) in the Bible. And following we will check out the second number he gave.
Strong's #8292 is found two times. The first is in Judges 5:16. Here is the verse in Hebrew:
טזלָ֣מָּה יָשַׁ֗בְתָּ בֵּ֚ין הַֽמִּשְׁפְּתַ֔יִם לִשְׁמֹ֖עַ שְׁרִק֣וֹת עֲדָרִ֑ים לִפְלַגּ֣וֹת רְאוּבֵ֔ן גְּדוֹלִ֖ים חִקְרֵי־לֵֽב:
This word "שְׁרִק֣וֹת" located in about the middle of the verse above is Strong's #8292. In the King James Bible it is translated as "bleatings".
Again, Strong's #8292 is only found twice in the O.T. The second time is in Jeremiah 18:16a:
לָשׂ֥וּם אַרְצָ֛ם לְשַׁמָּ֖ה שְׁרִיק֣וֹת (כתיב שְׁרִוקֹ֣ת) עוֹלָ֑ם
Strong's #8292 is the 2nd word from the left. Here it is:
שְׁרִיק֣וֹת
Strong's #8292 is one of the numbers Gunther gave when he said that vowel points were words. He gave #8292 as proof of that.
As is evident, Strong's #8292 is not a vowel point. It is a fully developed Hebrew word with several consonants.
Question to Gunther: why did you say Strong's #8292 is a vowel point rather than the word it clearly is? I do not understand why you would do this. Please explain. It really should not take you much time at all. If you are mistaken then that should be stated.
Thank you.
