Interpretations Belong to God/Jesus/the Word
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation (Strong's #1955).
There's not a million different interpretations of Scripture – there's one. And it belongs to God. The Bible is His Word. He interprets (the Spirit guides His elect into all trut – -the Spirit is the interpreter of the Bible – do not interpretations belong to God? see Genesis 40:8). Interpretations certainly do not belong to men.
A related word to "interpretation" (#1955) is found in the gospel of Mark:
Mark 4:34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
The Greek word translated as "expounded" is Strong's #1956 – the related word to #1955 and therefore to “interpretations.”
Jesus always spoke in parables. And Jesus is the Word of God. So, He was teaching us how to understand the whole of the Bible. You must look for the deeper spiritual meaning of each verse. The hidden truth. The mystery of Scripture.
Significantly, Jesus "expounded" ALL THINGS to His disciples (typifying the elect). In other words, Christ interpreted the dream – as it were – of the Gospel. He only knows the right and proper interpretation as interpretations belong to God.
We also should note that Jesus is the Word. This means that the Word interprets the parabolic (all Scripture) Word. Or we could say it as 1 Corinthians 2 says it, the Holy Ghost teaches by the process of "comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
