The Bible Says Women are Not to Teach
1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
The passage above is not just telling us about the Church Age (as 1 Corinthians 14:34) does. But this command of God that women are not to teach nor usurp authority over men is a command God gives based on the historical account found in Genesis concerning the garden of Eden.
There, we are told, Adam was not deceived. But the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Yes, there are definite spiritual meanings to this. But that does not change the fact that God has commanded these things for women to obey.
And the woman of God did obey God on this point throughout most of the New Testament era.
But at the time of the church's end and the time for the end of the world itself, the Lord allowed the women's movement of feminism to develop and grow.
And in the west especially, where God was also judging the churches by allowing apostasy to fester and increase in denomination after denomination, numerous "plagues" struck the churches.
The free will gospel grew tremendously filling the churches with people who had not experienced true salvation – and the end result was that the congregations became just like the world.
And so countless churches cast their eyes to the world. Whatever was going on in the world-they desired to bring into the church. This included the feminism movement.
Women became deacons. Elders. Pastors. Bishops in some congregations. The thing God warned
Israel about had come to pass in the churches:
Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Women began to rule the congregations in direct rebellion against the thing God commanded them not to do in 1 Timothy 2:11-14.
E Bible Fellowship is very careful on this issue. Just as we are very careful on the issue of tongues. Or on the issue of the free will gospel. We are very careful because we know the damage allowing women to teach/usurp authority has done to the corporate church.
As a result, EBF carefully stays a safe distance from the border of God's law on this matter.
