The Isles are on Fire – Are you Burned?
Isaiah 24:15 Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.
This is an example of Hebrew parallelism. The first part of the verse, "glorify the LORD in the fires," is saying the same thing as the second part of the verse, "even the name of the LORD...in the isles of the sea".
This means that the "fires" are taking place in the isles of the sea.
What does the Bible mean by “isles of the sea”? It means all seven continents (as a continent is a large island) that form the world are on fire. Why would the world be on fire? Because Isaiah 24 emphasizes that Judgment Day has come to the world. See:
Isaiah 24:4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Verse 6 agrees with verse 15's reference to fire. Notice it says, "the inhabitants of the earth are burned". All the inhabitants of the earth (all the isles of the sea) are on fire.
However, incredibly, there are a few men left in the fire. Apparently these few men are not burned as the rest of the inhabitants.
Therefore, we can conclude that it is only the few, who have somehow survived through the fire – who are left to glorify the LORD in the fire.
Zechariah 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
