Why Do So Many Believe (as Instructed) & Yet Not Become Saved?

If "believing in Christ" saved people – then why is it that so many have believed and were not saved?

We hear testimonies from people that say they accepted Christ 3 or 4 or 5 times. Some have repeatedly walked down the aisle to accept Christ; or have repeatedly said the sinner's prayer.

Why is it that numbers of people come forth at a revival meeting or a crusade and sincerely make confession of faith – and yet there's no change in their lives. Some even do it a second time or more.

Why do so many – or even one (it would be a problem even if it were one single person) – why do they not become saved since they do exactly what their free will gospel preacher told them to do?

They return to drugs. Or alcohol. They return to the world. Some even become atheists after having previously made a confession of Christ and declared their belief in Him.

Why, why, why? Is the Bible not true when it says "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved?"

Oh, the Bible is true alright. It’s not the Bible's fault.

The fault lies with the preachers who promise people life if they believe:

Ezekiel 13:22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

Tell me, who is it out there that gives the promise of life to people?

Clearly, that promise is stated, or implicitly made by false gospels that tell people to do various works – especially the work of believing. Believe on Jesus, they say, and you will be saved.

Only, they forget to mention that the belief must be from the heart (soul). And they further forget to mention that man's soul (heart) is dead because of sins. Which actually makes it impossible for him (the man) to believe in an acceptable way to God and to experience salvation. They promise life and freedom from sin but instead deliver death and bondage to sin:

2 Peter 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

Is it no wonder that God has had enough of such pastors. Pastors that ought to be feeding the flock, and yet who rather feed themselves of the flock.

Ezekiel 34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

This is one of the major reasons God has ended the Church Age and removed ALL spiritual authority away from those who abused it so greatly:

Ezekiel 34:9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;

10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they

may not be meat for them.
