“Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye?”

By Chris McCann

Instead of disputing all the time and arguing that God is still saving—go get out there and bring that gospel to the people of the world who you claim can still be saved. What are you waiting for?

Perhaps you're not going because deep down you know it’s true that God has ended His salvation program. And perhaps deep down you realize that if you were to go out with a message encouraging people towards salvation--God would not be with you:

Numbers 14:42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

And perhaps you're afraid of going forth only on your own strength without the help and assistance of God. Good. You should be afraid of that. If God is not with you than you'll be easily overcome:

Acts 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
