Jesus Christ the Reigning King of the Earth

Man the First King of the Earth

Who was the first king of the earth?

Answer: mankind.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, ... have dominion ... over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Man had dominion over the earth. Therefore man was the king of the earth.

Satan Takes the Kingdom from Man and Becomes King of the Earth

Who took the kingdom and became king in man's place?

The answer: Satan.

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

And,

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;

By obeying Satan instead of God mankind became subservient to the evil one. And all that man ruled over (the earth) became his.

True or false: Jesus is born King of the earth?

False. He's born King of the Jews:

Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

True or false: Jesus died King of the earth?

False. Jesus died King of the Jews:

John 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

And,

John 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

If Jesus was not king of the earth when He was born, or even when He died-then who was king of the earth at that time?

The answer is: Satan.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

Satan offered Jesus the rule over all the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him. The Lord Jesus did not correct Satan regarding his dominion over the earth because it was the case since the garden of Eden that the devil ruled mankind and thus the nations of the earth.

It is at the time of Judgment Day itself that Jesus takes the title of King of the earth:

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

The Lord Jesus had always been King of the Jews-but after taking over the kingdom of Satan at the start of Judgment Day (May 21, 2011) Jesus becomes the King of all kings and Lord of all lords:

Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Jesus' earthly reign over Satan's kingdom (the nations of this world) is a limited reign:

1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

Notice that we're told, "He must reign, TILL He hath put all enemies under His feet". The word "till" indicates a limited reign. A temporary (not eternal) reign. This reign is for a limited time period because it began on May 21, 2011 and continues (according to Biblical evidence) to sometime in the year 2033. This present time we're now living in-is the fulfillment of the Scriptures that declare Jesus must reign on this sin cursed earth.

Following the last day of judgment, at the time when the world is destroyed, His earthly reign ceases (the last enemy death is destroyed). At that point His eternal reign as the eternal King of the Jews (God's elect) continues on forevermore into eternity future.
